Little Girl's Bedroom (Before)

My plans for my daughter's bedroom once she outgrew her crib was to put a chair rail along the wall and to put white bookshelves from floor to ceiling on either side of the window. We also had a cushion made from the same fabric as the valance to make a window seat from. The valance we had custom made as well as there was no solution to the arched window, they do make California shutters now for arched windows but they cost a small fortune. We could've left it open but it faces south and sunlight streams in at the lovely hour of 6am on summer mornings. I had three ideas for paint color. The first was to use 2 shades of lilac, light and dark with the chair rail as the divider. The second to paint the bottom part of the wall a soft brown such as Bar Harbour Beige and the top a soft lilac and the third was to find wallpaper for the bottom and lilac for the top.

As an aside, after almost 4 year of enjoying our home, we are moving in September! So come September there will be plenty more new pictures as we start all over again!
